Suction-Based Care Within Physiotherapy
Cupping Therapy uses targeted negative pressure or suction to lift soft tissues, improving local blood flow and releasing myofascial restriction. to support people experiencing muscle tightness, stiffness or myofascial pain.
Cupping Therapy
At HOPE Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Centre, therapists assess pain, muscle stiffness, restricted range of motion, and presence of trigger points along with detailed medical history before determining whether cupping therapy is appropriate. Cups are placed on selected areas of skin, and suction is applied. The cups may be left in place for 5 to 15 min, or the therapist may choose to slide the cups across the skin, mimicking deep tissue massage, depending on the patient's requirements.
Our Approach To Cupping Therapy
Following assessment, physiotherapy treatment may involve dry or fire cupping, depending on patients needs following a detailed assessment. Cupping may leave circular marks or soreness which usually fades in 72 hrs. Cupping therapy is used in conjunction with stretches of muscles worked on along with exercise therapy.
